I missed an opportunity

Such a great opportunity, in fact, that I think I'm going to have to significantly rewrite several scenes and then release an updated version.  (While I'm at it, I'll try to find a good way to add some interactivity, since I feel like the lack thereof is why this is getting zero notice...)

What was this opportunity, you may ask?  (And is it worth rereading for, if you're one of the few who have already read this.)

Well, at the risk of spoiling it, I came up with a brilliant detail that really should have always been there in talking about the relationship between Achilles and Deidameia.

(Leaving some blank space here in case that's enough to pique your interest and you don't need/want more spoiled than that...)

Specifically, a detail about how she felt about him.

Or rather, why she felt about him.

(Ack, that was a terrible abuse of the English language!)

In short, it occurred to me that it fits a lot of other details of her story (esp. in light of the fact that she never went after him in the ten years between the first and second sailings for Troy) if she actually only fell for him because he was dressed as a girl, and the spell (such as it was) was utterly broken once he resumed his male identity (despite that she had obviously known he was actually a man when she was sleeping with him).

In light of that new idea, I absolutely want to go back and rewrite to change that, because it definitely fits her portion of the story better this way.

Not sure when that will happen, though.  I'm most of the way through the rewrite of book three (which is def going to need one more pass before it's ready), and I promised to help someone else out with the script of their VN after that, so...dunno.  It'll be my next project after that other VN, though.  (Then I'll give book three its next draft, which will hopefully be the final one...)
