Today's minor update, and about book two...

So.

Things, as always, are in flux.  (Because I am not immortal.)

I've uploaded a new version of the game, containing some mostly very minor modifications, fixing major grammatical errors that slipped my notice all the times I looked over the text in getting the book coded as mildly interactive fiction.  (Actually, not even grammatical errors, mostly, more like typographical ones.  Like at least two sentences where I just  plain left out a word, a time I left the "s" off of "she," etc.)

The reason I noticed these errors now is that I just reread the whole first book over the last four or five days, taking notes on these egregious problems, because I plan to spend November working on the rewrite of The Golden God of Aiolia, book two of the Atalanta and Ariadne series.  (Yes, the series needs an actual name.  I'm open to suggestions on that score...)

It's already had one rewrite this year, but said rewrite fell drastically short of what was needed.  I've taken extensive notes on the previous draft, and am hopeful that the next draft will at least be close to what I want it to be.

As of my last devlog, I was not planning on making an interactive form of book two.

And I can't really think of any good places to add interactivity, aside from the few battle scenes.

On the other hand, I've since learned how to use Ren'py, so doing a kinetic novel version is possible...except that I have no art to go with it.  :..(  (I would love to have character art for these and do proper kinetic novel versions, but unless I magically get about 1000% better at 3D art, that's just not gonna be possible.  Way too much art to commission.)

So I'm mildly reversing the statement from the previous devlog and returning to the tentative "I might release the next one in a game form," depending mostly on how I feel about the idea following the new draft.  And if I can see any good places to add interactivity outside the combat scenes.

I'm also looking into other places to post the non-interactive version of the text instead of AO3, which just doesn't feel like the right place for it.  Possibly on a blog?  Dunno yet.  There will definitely be non-interactive versions of the rest of the series, whether there are interactive versions or not.  I'm hoping to have The Golden God of Aiolia ready for release by the end of the year, but I will not make promises on that score, given how badly the last draft failed to live up to my expectations.

Just thought I'd put this out here as an FYI.  :)  (Also, suppose I may as well shill my other games.  One of them, anyway.  Specifically, A Song of Warriors, which is a 1980s rock and roll take on parts of the Iliad.  Sort of.)
