Due to my unreasonably massive script and my unfamiliarity with Ren'py, it turns out we can only get a demo released in time for YaoiJam.  :(

The full game takes place over the course of two weeks, starting on a Tuesday night, and the demo gets through Sunday morning.   (We're hopeful that the completed game will be ready for SuNoFes, but if not I'll keep working on the coding after SmallBunny moves on to their Spooktober project, and hopefully the full game will be released sometime in the month of September.)

So, what went wrong, you may be asking?  Well, it all boils down to my script.  On top of being nearly 50,000 words long, it contains a lot of things like (semi-)random events, some of which can be repeated and others which must not be.  None of these things are all that hard to code in TWINE, but it turns out they're more complicated in Ren'py.  Beyond that, I didn't give nearly detailed enough instructions as to sprite usage, which slows the coding down enormously.  In fact, some of the sprite staging is so complex that it's still not quite what it's supposed to be yet.

Additionally, because there are so many locations in the game, many of the backgrounds are not final:  there are roughs, flats, and things disastrously amended by me.  *cough*  The ending CGs aren't ready, either, but since the endings aren't even released yet, that's not an issue at the moment...

However, I hope people will at least be able to enjoy the demo!  (It is, after all, the calm before the spiral into despair, so in a way it's the most pleasant part of the story...)  The rockin' score is all in place, and the character art is, too, so at least some of what you'll be able to see between now and when the full game is released is the full, proper experience.   And it does contain one of my favorite moments in the game:  the shower scene!  :D  (Sorry, though, no nudes:  SuNoFes doesn't allow R18+ content.)

The demo is almost 20k words long, so it's still a fair chunk of game.  Not the whole story, but...the rest is coming as soon as possible!  :)
