A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

In a kingdom that lives in fear of a terrible dragon, a young woman approaches a team of mercenaries for help with a rescue mission.

A short and simple original fairy tale, animated as a kinetic novel.

A bit over 1,500 words long.  No choices, just a quirky little fairy tale.

Definitely the first in a series, because I had fun with this.  ;)  (Like with real fairy tales, there won't be any connection between them, of course.)

Content Warnings:

  • Minor fantasy violence
  • Monsters, most of which are not even remotely scary

Other Warnings:

Please don't strain your eyes trying to read the facing page text on the title screen:  it's just flavor to make the book look like an actual book.  (And, actually, most of it will be used as the opening for the next of these LGBTQIA+ fairy tales that I do, for next month's Aro Jam...)

Due to how Ren'py works and how the characters are animated, on my computer one of the scenes has enough moving parts that it slows down a lot.  More powerful PCs might not have that problem there, and less powerful PCs might experience some slowdowns in other places.  As the animation speed is not actually relevant to the story experience, this doesn't seem too important, but I thought I should mention it anyway.

Full credits and links to assets provided in a devlog.  (Except for the GUI, none of it was really intended for visual novels...)

I appreciated the effort and outside thinking regarding the animations using RenPy. But the final result.... Was not good
