Botanical Gardens VN Backgrounds

A set of backgrounds for visual novels (though they could also be used for other types of games, in theory) using four photographs I took some years back in the Japanese Gardens of the Missouri Botanical Garden.   (Sadly, at that time I was convinced that I had the skills to be a photographer, so most of the photos I took were close-up studies of flowers and shots of leaves against the sky, things that would not work well as game backgrounds.   Shame on past me for not knowing better.)

I used the program FotoSketcher in an attempt to give these photographs the look of various kinds of paintings and sketches.  There are between ten and twelve versions of each photograph.

The character sprites in my sample images are, of course, LinXueLian's Mo Dao Zu Shi fan sprites, which I had already downloaded for a fangame I never managed to finish writing and I figured "may as well use them!" because there is no such thing as too much MDZS.  Needless to say, these sprites are not included in my BG pack!

I am releasing this asset pack with the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC by 4.0), which means that commercial use and modification of the asset are fine, but that credit to me (as PyrrhaIphis) is required and the asset may not be resold as an asset.  Also, I would like to add the additional term that these backgrounds may not be used in any project that defames any group or is otherwise offensive, nor may it be used in/for NFTs.

Unlike my games, I am leaving this asset pack open to donations, because I found out that you can adjust itch.io's share of the proceeds to 100%.  So, if you want to support itch.io, you can donate money for this, safe in the knowledge that I don't get a cent of it.
